Obituary of Mary Kaszas

KASZAS, MARY " On Sunday, April 29, 2007 Mary passed away peacefully at home at the age of 82 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank in 2005; parents, George and Violet Sotropa; brother, Bill Ross; sister-in-law, Doreen Sotropa; and brother-in-law Peter Purcell. Mary is lovingly remembered by her son, Dale Maley; granddaughter, Miranda (Keith) Light; two great-granddaughters, Jazaiah and Sephra; her son, Don; grandson Kendon; two brothers, John (Alice) Sotropa and Vic (Irene) Sotropa; sister Kathy Purcell; as well as many nieces and nephews; and special friends Bonnie and Doreen. Mary was born in Regina on September 4, 1924. She attended Wetmore School and Balfour Collegiate. She loved new challenges and started her career at Seaboard Oil Company. Later she was hired by Mobil Oil Corporation where she was the Executive Secretary to the President of the company. She then transferred to Calgary and worked there for 2 to 3 years before returning to Regina to marry Frank. Together, they started Central Signs where she did the accounting. Mary loved gardening, planting flowers, painting pictures, and most of all, cooking. She never let an Easter or Christmas go by without cooking all the special Ukrainian dishes which all her family and friends enjoyed so much. Mary also enjoyed many days at their cottage at Regina Beach. Mary was always giving of herself to others and had many close friends. Her love in the Lord and strong faith helped to keep the family together. She will be dearly missed by all and never, ever forgotten. May the Lord bless her and keep her forever. A private service and interment to celebrate Marys wonderful life, for family and close friends, will be held at a future date.
