Obituary of Esther Lois Lambert

LAMBERT, Esther Lois, May 7, 2007 Esther Lois Lambert (nee Armstrong) passed away at 88 years of age. Lois was born on a homestead near Wardlow, Alberta on March 29, 1919. She attended school and Business College in Calgary. After working as a secretary for a few years Lois met then married Jack Lambert in 1943. They began married life on the West Coast where Jack was stationed with the Air Force. Following the war, they moved to Saskatoon so Jack could finish his studies. After he was ordained in 1947 they served the United Church on pastoral charges in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, retiring to Regina in 1983. Through the years Lois used her secretarial skills in many voluntary positions and church projects. Lois was a gentle and gracious lady. Her family and the church were dear to her and both were a large part of her life. Predeceased by her husband Jack in 1988, she will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her devoted family, daughters Carolyn (Alan) Fox, Janet (Bill) Rothecker; son Norman Lambert; granddaughters Kara (Brett) Kunstleben, Pamela (Dr. Anil Dhople) Fox-Dhople of Baltimore, Suzanne (Joseph Shangi) Fox of Toronto; grandson Kurtis (Mallory Whitrow) Rothecker; great-grandsons Kealan and Kaden Kunstleben. Also surviving are sister Shirley (Don) Weiss, Westbank, BC; brother Jim (Helen) Armstrong, Havelock, ON; sisters-in-law Joan (Bruce) Newkirk of Saskatoon, Jane Lambert, London, ON; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family extends thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Pasqua Hospital for their compassion and care. A Memorial Service will be held at Zion United Church, 120 Broad Street, on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Alex Taylor officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers most gratefully declined.
