Obituary of Maureen Sarah King

Maureen Sarah King April 11, 1954 " May 11, 2007 After a seven year battle with cancer, Maureen is finally free of the challenges that were put before her almost daily in fighting her illness. The dignity and courage with which she fought her disease is an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Even on the most difficult days she maintained her sense of humour and was more concerned about her familys well being rather than her own condition. Maureen took special delight and great satisfaction these past few months from visits from her new grandson Zane who was born last September, and as Zane grows older he will be told about the special woman his grandma was. Predeceased by her father, Robert McCondach last November, as well as her aunt Gladys McCondach, grandpa George Booty, grandpa Ron McCondach, grandma Hazel McCondach, uncle Clifford Koch, uncle George Booty and aunt Jean Booty. Maureen is survived by her husband and best friend of 32 years, Rick, her mother, Helen McCondach, brother Mark McCondach, daughter, Meghan (Tim) Jorgensen, son Robert (Dana) King, and of course, their son and grandmas pride and joy, Zane Alexander King. Maureen is also survived by her very special auntie Marg? of Regina, and her uncle Bruce McCondach of Victoria, BC. Rick and the family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the nursing staff on 3B and the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital. Also thanks to Palliative Home Care Services. A special thanks to Dr J. S. McMillan and his wife Cheryl who have been there every step of the way for Maureen. We also thank Dr. Clein, Dr. Chal Chal, Dr. Nillson, Dr. Behle and our friend John (RN) at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre. The kindness and care that you have given Maureen these past years has meant so much. At Maureens request there will be no funeral, instead a small family gathering will be held in celebration of her life for family members. Her ashes will be interred at Regina Cemetery beside her father. As well, Rick will carry some of Maureens ashes on one last ride together? on the bike to Campbell River, BC " her favorite spot on earth. Flowers gratefully declined but donations to the Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina S4T 1A5 would be greatly appreciated.
