Obituary of Ruby May Salter
SALTER, Ruby May, born May 24, 1917 in Prince Albert, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in Regina. Forever loved by her family: daughter-in-law, Lorna Salter, Summerland, BC; grandchildren, Laurel (Jim) Johnson, Port Hardy, B.C., Rhonda Salter, Calgary, AB, Deryk (Lisa) Salter, Calgary, AB; great-grandchildren, Max and Taylor Johnson and Abbi and Ella Salter; daughter-in-law, Marg Salter, Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Cheryl (Bill) Roberts, Sherwood Park, AB and Greg (Dasha) Salter, Coquitlam, BC; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Brady, Brodie and Chynna Roberts and Matthew and Ryan Salter; two sisters, Anne Ronning, Prince Albert, SK and Helen (Al) Jaster, Lethbridge, AB and their families. Ruby was predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years, Sidney Salter; and two sons, Wilf and Reg Salter; her parents, Ellen and Donald McLeod; one brother, William McLeod; two sisters, Phyllis Cooke and Dorothy McRann; and her great-grandchildren, Bretton and Ciara Roberts. Ruby moved to Regina in 1953 and worked for B.A. Oil for seven years. She was later employed by the Provincial Government for twenty-two years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Salvation Army, played in the band, sang in the songsters and served as Secretary-Treasurer for twenty years at the Salvation Army Citadel, Regina. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ruby, may be made to the Salvation Army, 2240 " 13th Avenue, Regina S4P 3M7. A Service and Celebration of Life will take place at Haven of Hope Salvation Army Church, 2012 McIntyre Street, Regina at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2007, Rubys 90th Birthday.
