Obituary of Leonard Daniel McCrank

LEONARD DANIEL McCRANK Leonard passed away suddenly at his home in Regina on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the age of 97 years. Predeceased by his wife Doris in 1997, Leonard is survived by his daughter Eileen and sons: James (Sheila) children Chris (Virginia) and Lisa (Blair) Bucholz; Robert (Colleen) children Peter (Elizabeth), Michael (Lesia), Daniel, Winter (Jaret) Nelson and Colby (Justin) Schley; Murray (Linda) children Jennifer (Jason Briggs) and Kerri (Kevin Niemitalo); fourteen great-grandchildren; his sister Elinor Murphy; brother Donald McCrank and brother-in-law Don (Jean) Soutar. He was predeceased by sisters: Lillian, Kathleen (Art) Pinner, Rose (Wilf) Lageson and Florence McCrank; brothers-in-law James Murphy, James Soutar and Bert (Pat) Soutar; sister-in-law Doreen McCrank; and daughter-in-law Denise McCrank. Born June 22, 1914 on the family farm near Wilcox, Leonard attended various country schools and Notre Dame College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1938. He farmed for many years until retiring to Regina in 1973. Leonard had many interests and hobbies including wood working, gardening, reading, history and genealogy. His greatest joy was visiting with his family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
