Obituary of Sylvia Olive Uncles

UNCLES - It is with great sadness that the family of Sylvia Olive Uncles announces her passing on May 30, 2007 at the age of 85. Sylvia served with the WAAF in England during World War II. She married the love of her life, Joe Uncles, in 1945. She and Joe lived in Moose Jaw until 1966 when Joe was transferred to work at Westons Bakery in Regina. Caring for others was Sylvias prime role and joy in life. She always put others before herself, doing whatever she could to make them comfortable and bring a smile to their face. She loved to be at home, and enjoyed doing the cooking, baking and cleaning especially the laundry on Mondays. Getting her hair done at Waverleys Hair Design and shopping at the Bay on Saturday mornings were her special treats to herself. Sylvia was predeceased by sisters, Agnes Coates and Ruby Hooper, and brothers, William and Ron Hall, all of England; and by brother-in-law, Fred Jones. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Joseph, her husband of almost 62 years; her son, Barry, and daughter-in-law, Nancy; grand-daughter, Dena (and fianc, Derek Zak) of Calgary, AB; and grandson, Joel, of Regina. She will also be missed by her sister, Nora Liversidge and nieces, Ruby Hall, Carole Stephenson and Ann Wright of England; sister-in-law, Vera Jones of Burnaby, BC; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Gladie Uncles of Moose Jaw, SK; nephew John (Donna) Uncles of Calgary; nieces, Karen (Rick) Jackson of Calgary and Leslie (David) Ell of Regina, and their families. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Gary Panko and the staff and clients at Waverleys Hair Design and to the staff at the Bay for their many years of friendship and caring. Thanks also to Dr. Donovan Brown and Dr. L. Blignaut, the Regina Palliative Care Team and the staff at Pasqua Hospital Emergency and Unit 4C for their compassionate and expert care.
