Obituary of Edith Annetta Millard

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Edith (Nettie) on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the age of 90 years. Edith was born on the family farm at Osage. She attended school in Osage and Tyvan. She later took a business course in The Pas, Manitoba, attended Normal School in Regina and Summer School in Saskatoon. She taught school at Corning, Strasbourg and finally at Sundwall School, west of Govan, where she met and married Ross Millard in 1949. They had one son, Drew. They worked on the family farm at Govan for many years then moved into Govan and later Regina. After Ross death in 2003 she stayed in their home until August 2006 when she moved into Erimus Care Home. Edith taught 4H and Sunday School in Govan. She had a great love of flower gardening, baking and was an avid birdwatcher. The family would like to thank Helen Moffat, Dr. Hunter, Diane Hind and the staff at Erimus Care Home for the care given to Edith. Edith was predeceased by her parents John and Laura Morris; her husband Ross Millard; brothers, Ernest, William and Percy Morris; sisters, Eva, Ida and Grace Morris; brother-in-law Victor Findlay; and nephew Brian. Edith is survived by her son Drew (Donna); her sister Jean Findlay of Regina; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. Interment to be held at a later date in Govan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in memoriam, to the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
