Obituary of Aiko Nakamura
NAKAMURA, AIKO (KIKUCHI), passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2005 in Regina. Born on October 25, 1917 in Itoshimagun, Japan. She is predeceased by her parents, beloved husband Sadato, brothers, Takeo and Hirosuke, and sister Komine. Aiko is survived by sons Sam (May), George (Alice), Thomas (Cathy), Elmer; daughters Mariko (Franklin), Harumi (Paul), Lillian (Carl) and grandchildren Ember, Dustin, Kiyoshi, Damien, Jaye, David, Jessica; and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Japan. Her care for others was the focus of her life as a nurse, mother, and homemaker. She was married in 1936, came to Canada in 1940, moved to Regina in 1942 and created a welcoming home to many visitors and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 16 from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Thursday, November 17 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. Kanto Tsukamoto of the Toronto Nichiren Buddhist Temple. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Reception at Wascana Family and Community Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 - 2nd Avenue, Regina S4R 1A6 or to a charity of choice.
