Obituary of Yvette Marie Kindopp
Kindopp, Yvette - On Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Regina General Hospital at the age of 71, mom's long battle with cancer ended peacefully and her new life began with her family by her side. Predeceased by her father Noel Laverdiere, sister Myrna Schlamp and brother Garnet. She is survived by her husband Reuben, daughter Cindy (John) Kennedy of Swift Current and their daughters Jane and Jill, son Darcy of Regina and his son Justin, son Dean (Cathy) of Regina and Dean's children Chad and Sarina, son Bart (Linda) of Bonnyville, Alta. and their sons Shaun and Sheldon, son Derrick (Kynan) and their son Mason. She is also survived by her mother Myrtle Laverdiere of Wolseley, Ruby Pow of Regina, Mansel Laverdiere of Balgonie, Murray Laverdiere of Wolseley and numerous nieces, nephews and two great-grandchildren. Yvette was born in Wolseley, Sask. where she was an accomplished figure skater and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame and Museum in Indian Head along with her brothers and sisters in May of 1998. After graduation in Wolseley, she moved to Regina where she worked at the Co-op Creamery. That is where she met her husband, Reuben (known to everyone as Bob) who was doing renovations at the Creamery. They married in October 1956, resided in Regina and raised a family of one girl and four boys. She was a great mother and grandmother and good friend to many. She loved her flower beds and planters and spent many hours tending to them in the summer. She attended all her children's school and sporting events and never complained about driving to the rink at 6:00 a.m. In the winter she loved hockey, she was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. She also loved attending her grandchildren's football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, basketball and hockey games. She had a loving heart and warm humour and will be sorely missed but never forgotten by many. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, S4P 2R3.
