Obituary of Franz Noble Jacoby

JACOBY - Franz Noble, passed away peacefully at home on December 6th at the age of 92. Franz was born on March 21st, 1913 in Dundurn, Saskatchewan to parents George and Anna Jacoby. Franz is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Bonnie. He is lovingly remembered by his five sons George, Paul (Rita), Neil (Karen), Ray (Nancy) and John (Trish) along with his six grandchildren Stephane, Matthew, Michael and Karen, and Luke and Jane. Franz is also survived by his older brother, Max (Olga). Franz attended the University of Saskatchewan in the thirties and graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Accounting in 1937. He began his career with the provincial government in 1937 and remained there until retirement in 1976. Most of the 39 years were spent in the office of the provincial auditor with his final ten years as deputy provincial auditor. Franz met his dear wife Bonnie Argue in 1943. They were married in 1945 in Fillmore and lived 60 wonderful years together in Regina. They shared the happiness of their five sons, grandchildren and many wonderful experiences of travel around the world and in Canada. Franz was a member of Lakeview United Church since 1950 and in the early years served as a steward and an elder and was also on a number of church boards. He also volunteered his time as a Cub Master for many years always enjoying the time spent teaching young people. Dad had a long and active life with his greatest interest and love being his family. He was a life member of the Lakeshore Tennis Club, a member of the Royal Regina Golf Club for over 30 years and also a member of the Caledonian Curling Club. Dad not only had a passion to participate, but the patience and devotion to teach his children and others the sports he so loved. The many summers of family vacations to tennis tournaments and many years later, Christmass together in Palm Springs will be cherished by all family and friends who shared these times. A celebration of Franzs life will be held at Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, on Saturday, December 10th, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Franzs memory may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, Box 1697, #225 - 1874 Scarth Street, Regina, SK, S4P 3Z6.
