Obituary of Donalda Phyllis Lunde

LUNDE - Donalda Phyllis Lunde, late of Corinne, SK passed away on, December 7, 2005 at the age of 70 years. Donalda was predeceased by her parents, Lou and Lydia Dreger; by her brother Len Dreger; and her brother-in-law Don Francis. Donalda is survived by her husband; Denis Lunde, Corinne, SK; her sons Donald (Lisa Bjornson) Lunde, Calgary, AB; Dean (Arla) Lunde, Sylvan Lake, AB; Duane (Lorilei) Lunde, Regina; six grandchildren: Karyn, Brendan, Katherine, Rylea, Emory, and Taylor; two sisters: Helen Francis, Calgary, AB; Lorraine (Darryl) Cox, Midale; sister-in-law: Nel Dreger, Winfield, BC; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins. Donalda was born in Yellow Grass on January 8, 1935. She received her elementary education beginning at Lang School, then Rocky Bluff and Heiberg Schools, before graduating from Lang in 1954. She attended Teachers College at Moose Jaw and later received her Standard A Teachers Certificate. Donalda taught elementary classes for 8 years: at Sidney School, Regina, Swift Current, and Weyburn. Later, she was a substitute teacher and drove a school bus to Milestone for 27 years until her retirement in 2003. Donaldas hobbies were cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, craftwork, and genealogy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as time outdoors. Her outlook on life was always most practical. Donalda so loved her many friends; she was always ready to do a favour, ready to entertain, and most of all to make others happy. She was devoted to the importance of family and friendship. People and church were most important to her. Donalda is at peace and has no more suffering after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2005 at Milestone Alliance Church, Milestone SK with Pastor Lawrence Hudson and Pastor Adam Beach officiating. Private Interment. For friends so wishing, donations in memory of Donalda may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina SK S4P 2R3.
