Obituary of Hazel Dorien Lawrence
LAWRENCE - Hazel Dorien Lawrence was born on April 3, 1919 at Gilby, Alberta and passed away December 19, 2005 at Regina SK. Hazel was predeceased by her sister, Rhoda, who she never had the opportunity to know, and by her parents, Jacob and Lena Lawrence. Hazel spent most of her childhood in Hayter, AB. Hazel taught for nine years in Alberta before joining the Red Cross in 1947. Hazel moved to Regina and served as the Director of the South Saskatchewan Red Cross from 1951 until her retirement in 1980. Hazel was a talented pianist and volunteered her skills willingly at the Regina General Hospital until 1996. Hazel loved to travel and visited many different and exotic locations. She had many wonderful friends throughout her lifetime, many of whom stayed in contact with her until her passing. Hazels cheery disposition will be missed by all that knew her. A reception will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina. All those who would like to pay their final respects to Hazel are welcome. Hazel will be interred with her father and mother at the family plot in Provost, AB.
