Obituary of Anne Ilene Atkinson

ATKINSON - On Monday, December 26, 2005, Anne Ilene, late of Regina and Tugaske, Saskatchewan, died peacefully at the age of 93 years. Anne was born March 20, 1912 in Balcarres, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents Emma and Charles Stephens, siblings Myrtle, Cassie, Leah, Arthur, Calvin, George, husband E.A. Atkinson in 1976, daughter Donna Atkinson in 1975 and grandson Drew Perlett in 1960. Anne is survived by her children Gerry-Anne Perlett, (Regina) Carol Coutts, (Regina) Wendie (Marc) Picot (Shediac, NB) and Stephen (Barb) Atkinson, (White City, SK); grandchildren Leah, Bruce, Arthur, Robin (Stan Smith) and Regan Perlett; Daniel (Sherry), David Coutts and Jennifer (Jason) McKenzie; Gregory (Karen), Jocelyne and Micheline Picot; great-grandchildren Eric Perlett, Landon, Brielle and Cole Perlett, Nadine Smith, Taylor Coutts, Jessica and Jordan Sukenik, Kayla and Paige McKenzie; sister-in-law Ileine Stephens and niece Cheryl (Andrew) Stephens. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her family. She enjoyed many years of membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, the Tugaske U.C.W., and was an active volunteer in many community organizations, especially those involving her children. She also enjoyed the fellowship of her many Tugaske friends, her Bridge Club and her Scrabble group. The family wishes to thank Heather Monaghan, Carla Hartman and all the staff members of Helping Hands Care Home for their wonderful and compassionate care over the past year. Mom was treated just like a member of their own families, as were her children. We would also like to thank Diane Hinds, Rhonda and other staff members of Erimus Care Home for their compassionate care the previous year. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK. Flowers are gratefully declined.
