Obituary of Violet Elizabeth Hill

Hill, Violet Elizabeth 1925-2005 Known to friends and family as Vi, died on December 26, 2005 at the age of 80 in Regina, Saskatchewan. She was born on March 11, 1925 in Lewvan, Saskatchewan. Daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Hill. Predeceased by her life partner Albert James Brown (Jim Brown); brothers George Hill and Walter Hill and niece Dorie (Clelland) McKechnie. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her twin sisters Dorie Ridley (George) Sauble Beach, ON, Peggy Clelland (late Jack Clelland) Sechelt, BC, nephews Tom Clelland (Marj Brown) Roberts Creek, BC, Malcolm Clelland (Hope) Regina, SK, Robert Ridley (Marilyn) Cremona, AB, Steve Ridley, Sauble Beach, ON, Jackie Lind (John Rooney) Toronto, ON, Sue Ridley, Sauble Beach, ON and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Vi was engaging and lively, she loved to play bridge, cards, bingo and shuffleboard. She rarely complained and had a great wit and spark that will be long remembered. Although her life long struggle with cerebral palsy brought much pain and struggle she lived life with grace and dignity and for all of those who met her she became an inspiration and a reminder that we should never take anything for granted. A Graveside Service for Vi will be held on Friday January 6, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park (meet inside gate). The family would like to thank the nurses at Sunset Extendicare for their support and care they gave Vi and a special thank you to Cheryl Easton for her kindness she showed Vi over the last year.
