Obituary of Pat (Elizabeth) Wilson

WILSON (nee Paterson) - Pat (Elizabeth) Wilson died peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2005. Pat was predeceased by her husband Ray Wilson in 1983 and her grandson Warren Wilson in 1989. Left to mourn her passing is her son Chuck (Darla Hunter) Wilson, Regina, her daughter Wendy (Dennis) Gray, Regina, her son Don (Linda) Wilson, Creelman, her daughter Karen Rae Wilson, Berkley, CA; grandchildren Raynelle, Megan, Andrea, Jason, Ian, Michael, Barry, Falynn, Brandon; her sisters Lesly Merrill and Lara (Taffara) Deguef and her brother Doug Paterson (Rollie Cooke), all of Vancouver; as well nieces and nephews. Pat was born in Gladstone, Manitoba in 1919. She completed her nurses training at the Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg. In 1944, she joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp, she subsequently served overseas in England where she was attached to the 4th Canadian General Hospital. In 1945, she married fellow serviceman, Ray Wilson of Creelman. The marriage took place in Farnborough, England. She spent most of her married life in Creelman where she and Ray operated a successful farming operation. They retired to Weyburn, and in 1990 she relocated to Regina. Pats greatest thrill, later in life, was the time she spent with her grandchildren - all of whom have many wonderful memories of times spent with their beloved Grandma Pat. They all have many, many "Grandma Pat stories to cherish and retell in the days that follow which will bring them comfort and much laughter. She spent her whole life taking care of others - once a nurse always a nurse! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Andrews United Church, Creelman. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pats memory may be made to Fillmore Health Centre, Palliative Care, Fillmore, SK.
