Obituary of Hans Harvey Luross

HANS HARVEY LUROSS Surrounded by his loved ones, Harvey passed away at the Regina General Hospital on Sunday, March 11, 2012. Harvey was predeceased by his son, Lorne Luross in November, 2011. Harvey will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Peggy Luross; his daughter, Joanne Edwardson (John); granddaughter Jamie Anne McGough (Paul Sloman); daughter-in-law Lynn Cavanagh; sister Alice Watson; niece Diane Watson; and nephew Greg Watson. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mavis and the staff at the Regina General Hospital for their care and attention during Harveys stay. Born October 4, 1916 in Atwater, Saskatchewan, Harvey later moved with his family to Melville, where he attended Central School and Melville High School. He briefly attended Regina College before enlisting in the army in September of 1939. Harvey served four and a half years overseas in the army, returning home to take over the family farm near Atwater. He married Peggy in 1946, and in 1960 they moved their family to Regina, where Harvey embarked on a twenty year career with CMHC. Harvey enjoyed a lengthy retirement, spending time with family, and actively keeping up with news and current events in the community and abroad. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Harveys Life will be held at Central Lutheran Church, 2625 12th Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Tank officiating.
