Obituary of Claude Ewald Hoedel

HOEDEL - On Friday, January 13, 2006, Claude Ewald, late of Regina, passed away at the age of 67 years. Predeceased by his parents, Ewald and Elizabeth (nee Baumgartner) Hoedel of Killaly, as well as brother Clifford. Claude is survived by his wife Adeline (nee Holitski); children, Simone, Craig and Shawn; brother Harry Hoedel (Lillian Paidel) of Regina; sisters, Doreen Zacker of Regina, Marianne Piller of Kamloops, BC, Delores Sapara (George) of Esterhazy, Alice Andrews (Bob) of Kelowna, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Claude attended Killaly School and High School, and at 21 years he married. After completing his Engineering degree in Saskatoon, he worked for SaskPower in Regina. He later worked at Alberta Gas and Power, then BChydro. However, Claude missed the prairies and his many friends and relatives, and decided to return in 1982 to again work for SaskPower, where he remained until he retired in 1999. Claude was very athletic and played many sports including hockey, football, softball and golf. Later he enjoyed curling, where his wife joined his team - they spent many years polishing their talents together. Prayers will be held Tuesday, January 17th at 7:45 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel with Rev. Peter Nwanekezie presiding. Cremation to follow with a private family interment. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, S4P 2R3 or the charity of their choice.
