Obituary of Emily Pauline Britton

BRITTON, Emily Pauline July 5, 1913 - January 16, 2006 Emily passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Noble, her son Douglas, son-in-law David, brother Bert, sisters Vi, Millie, Flo, Nell, Lillian, Shirley and on her husbands side, Henry, Adam (Nelda), George (Janet) and Millie. She is survived by her daughters Erin Sellers, Pat Connell (Jim), Heather, daughter-in-law Jill and her sons George (Elaine),Wes (Mary-Lou), brother James Roberts (Bobbie) and sister-in-law Carol Gullacher and her family Butch (Kathleen), Lynn (Darrell) and their children and sister-in-law Mary Britton and the Britton nieces and nephews. Her joy was in her ten grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren. Emilys early years were spent on a homestead north of Tisdale. After her schooling she worked for Simpsons where she met and married Noble. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. In her early married life she spent most of her free time (after cooking and cleaning for ten) doing church work at Westminster United Church. She was originally involved with the Fireside Unit and later the Anniversary Unit. She remained an active volunteer until her death. After Nobles death in 1964 she returned to Simpsons-Sears and worked in Catalogue Sales as a telephone operator for over twenty years. Emily valued her many friendships and delighted in sharing her time and talents. The most important thing in her life was her family and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sincere appreciation and thanks to the caring staff at the General Hospital, especially the stroke ward (5A) and William Booth Special Care Home. A celebration of her life will be held at Westminster United Church, 3025 -13th Avenue, Regina on Friday, January 20th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Alan Schooley officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Westminster United Church at 3025 13th Avenue, Regina S4T 1P1 or a charity of your choice.
