Obituary of Patricia Marguerite Harrison

Patricia Marguerite Harrison Pat Harrison passed away suddenly in an automobile accident on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Regina, Sk. Pat was born June 9, 1935 to Ernie Edmonds and Bertha (McAdoo) on a farm north of Maryfield, Sk. She attended McNaughton school and taught school at Doonside for a year before marrying Wes Harrison on July 24, 1954. Together they raised five children on a farm south of Maryfield. Pat kept a large garden and enjoyed her fruit trees and flowers. She loved to sew and made many outfits for her children as they grew. Pat believed in education and took courses in bookkeeping, woodworking, welding and art. She was extremely gifted and unafraid to give her best. Pat was a member of the Heron Helpers ladies group in her farm community. Pat left the farm in 1981 and took up employment with Sask Energy. She worked in Kindersley and Unity and later moved to Saskatoon. Pat was a member of an acting and singing group that performed in communities in Sask. She was editor and publisher of a newsletter in Saskatoon for several years. She was a member of Toastmasters. Pat enjoyed skiing in Banff, tried white water rafting on the Frazer River and took a trip to Australia and Fiji. She enjoyed several winters in Arizona. Pat retired to Manitou Beach at Watrous where she enjoyed the benefits of the mineral spa. There she shared wonderful friendships within the community. Pat loved life. Pat was a loving and giving mother who taught her children the love of God. We all grew up and went off to do our own things in life. She didn't cling but gave us wings and helped when she could, always self-sacrificing. Mom had a spark for adventure, a twinkle for fun and a great zest for life and friends. She gathered many friends along her journey of life and we will all so miss her. Pat was predeceased by her parents Ernie Edmonds in 1958 and Bertha (McAdoo) in 1978; her son-in-law Delmie Richards in 2006; her brothers-in-law Arnold McIsaac and Barry French. Surviving to mourn her loss is daughter Julia (Tony) Juarez of Hamilton, and family Teresa (Brent) Dukes, Kegan, Taya; son Doug (Joanne) Harrison of Calgary, and family Desiree; daughter Deb Richards of Regina and family Sheldon, Miranda, Larissa, Chris and John; daughter Cathy (Ernie) Hey of Virden and family Jesse (Eryn Craib) Hey, Laura (Ian) Cole, Austin, and Jason (Laura) Hey; and son Boyd (Janet) Harrison of Lac La Biche.
