Obituary of Leonard Sandvold

SANDVOLD - On Monday, January 30, 2006 Leonard Sandvold, late of Regina, passed away at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his parents, Tom and Oline Sandvold; three sisters, Sigrid, Martha, and Rogna; one brother, Sigurd. Leonard is survived by one brother, Ole of Weyburn; one sister, Anna of Regina; two nieces, Marlene Guthrie of Burnaby, BC and Eileen (Irvin) Escott of Indian Head; four nephews, John (Martha) Gordon of Medicine Hat, Herb (Helene) Gordon of Halbrite, SK, Mac (Shirley) Gordon of Regina, Roy (Colleen) Gordon of Regina; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Leonard served overseas with the Lake Superior Regiment and landed in Caen, France July 23, 1944. He was wounded in action at Brettville, France on August 9, 1944 and was returned to the military hospital in London for convalescence prior to returning home in 1946. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Flowers gratefully declined.
