Obituary of James Thomas Scott

SCOTT, JAMES THOMAS (1918 - 2006) REGINA Peacefully passed away at home February 6, 2006 at the age of 88 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Rose and their four children. Jim and Rose would have been married 61 years on February 16, 2006. Jim was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Scott of Edinburgh, Scotland. Jim was born on the family farm between Sandwith and Bournemouth, SK on January 2, 1918. His school years were spent at Hyde-Park School. He stayed on the farm till he entered the military service to serve his country overseas with the Royal Regina Rifles. Jim came home in 1944 due to his mothers death. He married Rose Eberle February 16, 1945. Their marriage was blessed with four children: Rose Mary Koyama of Regina and her two daughters, Reiko and Tomiko; Betty Ann and Ken Armbruster of Neudorf and their three sons: Douglas (Jocelyn), Kent (April) and Leighton; Barbara Jean and Ed Klymchuk and their son Kyle; Jim and Florence Ann Scott and their daughters, Andrea (Doug), Kaela (Dan) and Ellen Rose; two great-grandchildren: Carter Koyama and Brielle Armbruster. Jim was employed by the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool as a grain buyer for 36 years at Clearfield, Kedleston, and Booth Siding. Jim and Rose retired to Regina in 1982 where Dad continued to enjoy hunting and fishing. Dad was a well-read man and was a community minded person. He was an active member of the Odd Fellows, Royal Canadian Legion and the Elks. Dad loved to collect guns, he built two boats, and he coached minor hockey and ball. Jim was well respected and a man of his word. There will be no funeral service at Dads request. Cremation has taken place. Phone calls and visitors would be welcomed at the house.
