LANGSTON, William John - Born May 27, 1914 in Plunkett, Saskatchewan, passed away February 8, 2006 at the Pasqua Hospital. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Audrey, and his devoted daughter, Maureen. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Alice, brothers Ronald and Harold, sisters Grace and Mabel, and nephew Brian. Left to cherish his memory are sisters-in-law Dorothea Langston, Virginia Langston, Zetta Bunn and brother-in-law Vic (Connie) Woods. "Uncle Billy is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Verna (Jim) McRae, Gail (Wayne) Musson, Doug (Susan) Langston, Joellyn (Leroy) Moser, Ken (Patricia) Langston, Sandra (John) Woods, and Donna Smith. Also survived by 16 great-nieces and nephews, 9 great-great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-great niece. He was ever grateful for all the help and support from special niece, Joey, and special nephew, Kenny - he spoke often about the joy and pleasure that they brought to him. Bill attended Innismore and Albert Schools as well as Scott Collegiate. He began his working life at Sears and left to serve overseas for four years with the Signal Core in WWII. Following his service overseas he returned to Sears where he worked for 43 years. During his retirement years he spent many happy hours in his garden where he nurtured many varieties of beautiful flowers. A nature lover as well as an avid sports enthusiast, he spent time golfing and was a true CFL fan with a particular affinity for the Riders. He was a keen observer of current events and could tell you what was going on in the world in general and the city of Regina specifically. His sense of fairness and justice was always of prime importance. Care and concern for his family and friends directed his life. He celebrated his 90th birthday on May 27th, 2004 with many friends and family, notably Norma and Joe Hopkins, who were dear friends for almost 70 years. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or a charity of your choice. Thank you to the caring staff at the Cardiac Surveillance Unit of the Pasqua Hospital. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, with Florence Paull officiating.
