Obituary of John Robert (Jack) Metcalfe

METCALFE - John Robert (Jack) Metcalfe passed away on February 13, 2006 at the age of 71. Jack was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Irene and his parents, Clare and Elsie Metcalfe, his brother-in-law, Charles Wadam and sister-in-law Doreen Henderson. Jack is survived by his fiance Ann Watson of Regina, his sister Lois (Richard) Grant of Coalhurst AB, his brother-in-law Victor (Vera) Wadman of Kenora ON, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and his toy poodle, Luiggi. Jack was born and raised in Carman MB. He began working for CIBC, in Carman in 1952. He served CIBC in various branches and departments throughout his tenure, retiring as a superintendent in Regina in 1990. After retirement, Jack and Irene travelled extensively throughout the world. Jack was an active member of the Lakeside Lions Club, the Tartan Curling Club and the WA WA Shrine. Jack enjoyed golfing, fishing, curling and stamp collecting. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the Regina Flying Club, 2630 Airport Rd. Interment will take place in Kenora ON at a later date.
