Morris, George Harvey The family of Harvey Morris is saddened to announce the loss of a beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, Papa and friend. Harvey passed away February 20th, 2006 at Wascana Rehabilitation Center after a long illness at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Maggie); children, Gaylene (Dave) Schwartz, Cranbrook, BC, Bill Morris, Fort MacMurray, AB, Kathy (Dan) Hovorka, Kamloops, BC and Doug (Krista) Morris, St. Albert, AB; stepchildren, Brad (Joanne) Tippett, Regina, SK, Dave (Wendy) Tippett, Dallas, TX, and Wendy Tippett, Saskatoon, SK; grandchildren, Amanda and Alicia Morris, Devin and Jordan Schwartz, Ben and Brayden Morris, Chase and Barett and Nicole and Natalie Tippett; also survived by brothers, Lorne (Beatrice) Morris, Bangor, SK, and Bob (Elinor) Morris, Yorkton; and brother-in-law Mic (Hope) Chapman, Winnipeg, MB. Harvey was predeceased by his first wife, Gloria (Chapman) Morris in 1983; and his parents Robert and Maggie Morris in 1976. Harvey was born on the family farm in the Llewelyn district near Bangor, SK. He was proud of his Welsh heritage and although raised as a typical Saskatchewan boy, never forgot his Welsh ancestry and passed on many stories of the Welsh pioneers in his family. He was educated at Llewelyn School and Bangor High School. His lifetime career was in the Food and Produce Business. He was a Branch Manager for Scott National (Sysco Foods) in Prince Albert for 25 years. He was a popular and respected Manager and in 1986 was given the award of Manager of the Year for the Western Canadian Division. In 1993 he was transferred to Regina and in 1996 he retired after major surgery. He was a 40 year member of the Associated Canadian Travellers. He was deeply committed to his family and spent many camping and holiday trips in Northern Saskatchewan with them. He and Maggie enjoyed many trips including a trip to Wales in 2003. In 2004 a recurrence of illness caused him great difficultly. He has been a patient at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the past 7 months. At this time, the family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Steven Bester, his assistant Shirley, Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Units 2-5, 3-3, Palliative Care Services, and the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Dr. Kumar, and all family and friends for their support and love during his illness. Memorials to Harvey may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3. Funeral Service will be conducted at the Saltcoats Community Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24th, 2006. Interment to follow at Llewelyn Cemetery.
