Obituary of Daisy Bell McGregor

McGREGOR - It is with great sadness that the family of Daisy Bell McGregor (nee Page) announces the passing of their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at the age of 87 on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. Daisy was predeceased by her parents Albert and Catherine Page; infant sister Clara; her husband Darrell; her second eldest son Robert; and infant granddaughters, Jennifer Marie and Renae Leanne. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons and families, Gordon and Donna, Barbara, Ken and Sherry, Gary and Donna and Donald; as well as ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Daisy was born on August 5, 1918 in Indian Head and lived in Sintaluta where she met Darrell McGregor. They were married in Moose Jaw and remained there until after the war, when they moved to Regina. Their family of boys continued to grow with Robert, Ken, Gary and Donald joining Gordon and rounding out the clan. Mom was determined to be there for her children whenever they needed her and chose to stay at home to raise her boys. When Dad passed away in February of 1959, Mom was left with the daunting task of raising five boys ranging in age from 1 to 15 years. Mom was a great animal lover and no cat was safe from being picked up and vigorously petted if it came anywhere near her. Mom also had an amazing ability to remember faces and names of people that she had met throughout her life. Her love of gardening and nature was apparent from the many plants that grew and flourished under her care. Her love and appreciation of family, friends, animals and nature was what defined Mom and for this she will be dearly missed. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 24, 2006 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Donald E. L. Wells officiating.
