LAURENT BERNARD LARRY? BISSONNETTE December 6, 1923 March 19, 2012 Larry left to meet his Lord and be reunited with his beloved Jean on Monday, March 19, 2012. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jean; his parents, Henri and Marie Anne Bissonnette; brothers, Dollard, Gerard, Denis and Joseph; sisters, Marguerite G. and Marguerite M.; and brother-in-law Ronald Boutin. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving children, Rita Gareau, Bernard (Brenda) Bissonnette, Victor (Eva) Bissonnette, Luke Bissonnette (Fiona Wilkie), Yvonne (Patrick) Wagner, Eric Bissonnette (Penny Hayes) and Carl Bissonnette; beloved grandchildren, Paul and Robert Gareau, Sarah and Danielle Bissonnette, Derek, Lisa, Katrina and Jordan Bissonnette, Joshua, Emma and Laura Bissonnette, Amanda, Stefanie and Kristina Wagner, Jeremy and Matthew Pfingstl and Monique Bissonnette; and one beautiful great-granddaughter, Halle. Also left to mourn are his brothers, Marcel (Marilyn) Bissonnette and Ernest (Yolande) Bissonnette; sisters Cecile Boutin, Rolande (Edmond) Wolensky and Jeanne (Clarence) Stregger; sisters-in-law Yvette Bissonnette, Carole Bissonnette and Barbara Dixon (Reg) along with numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was born on his parents farm outside the village of St. Victor, SK on December 6, 1923. He received his education in one-room schools at Maisonneuve and St. Victor, and then continued his post-graduate education at College Mathieu in Gravelbourg. After a series of jobs in Ferland and Regina, Larry returned to St. Victor, where he began working for Family Life Assurance Company. He remained there until 1975. Upon his return to St. Victor, he met Jean and they were married on May 20, 1956. They moved to Regina where he worked at various places before settling down at Municipal Hail Insurance. He retired in 1988 but continued to work the summer season until 1993. During their retirement, Larry and Jean enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, AZ and summers at their home in Katepwa Beach. They moved back to Regina in 2001. Larry was an active member of his church and his community no matter where he was. The only thing that beat a good game of bridge was having his friends and family around. His family feels blessed to have had him in their lives and will always be grateful for his gifts of love and wisdom. Special thanks go out to the staff at Solace Care Home for their care and kindness to Larry during his final illness. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jean Baptiste R.C.
