Obituary of Elizabeth Hewlitt

HEWLITT, ELIZABETH MAY 3, 1920 - FEBRUARY 26, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Elizabeth, who passed away quietly at the William Booth Wascana Grace Hospice in Regina with her family close by her side. Predeceased by her first husband Harry Cross in 1967; her second husband Tom Hewlitt in 2005; infant son Glen in 1947; sisters, Ida, Rose and Carrie; brothers, Emil, Frank and Jake. She will be sadly missed by her children, Carol Cross, Earl Grey, Bonnie Downes, Regina and Joseph (Sharon) Cross, Cranbrook, BC; grandchildren, Shelly (Gary) Lavoie, Estevan, Kelly Downes, Regina, and Lisa Warner, Tasmania; great-grandchildren, Landon, Jordan, Cameron, Rene, Elizabeth, and Aaron; sisters Minnie Rien, Anne Hubick; her twin brother Edward (Clara) Janz,; and many special nephews and nieces. Elizabeth was raised on a farm north of Southey. She married Harry Cross in 1943 and lived in Earl Grey where they raised their family. She married Tom Hewlitt in 1968 and lived in both Kimberly and Regina for a brief time before returning to Earl Grey to live out the remainder of their lives. Elizabeth loved to garden and always had beautiful flowers everywhere. She was also a wonderful cook and baker. She shared her goodies with friends and family. She loved to play cards, visit with friends and play her favourite game "Trouble. Her "Trouble partner, Dale, and her friends will miss her dearly. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Earl Grey United Church. Flowers gratefully declined.
