Obituary of Margaret Grace Oxby

OXBY, MARGARET (nee Jones) We are saddened by the sudden passing of our mother, Margaret Grace Oxby, on March 5, 2006. Margaret was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Edward; spouse, Gordon Mitton; her daughter, Dianne Hall; and son, Gerald Oxby. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannette Markus (Ted), son David Oxby (Rose) and daughter Nora Ortman (Eldon); several grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Low; along with nieces, nephews, countless friends and acquaintances. Margaret was a gifted floral designer and for a number of years was the owner and manager of her own flower shop. Some may remember flower shows that were held jointly with other flower shops where the public could view firsthand floral design. A career change ensued and she became a sales representative in the life insurance industry. Retirement saw her honing her skills on the golf course with an outlet for her creative and artistic talents in her artwork. Most recently she made her home in Lumsden where she enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the QuAppelle Valley. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 9th from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Matthews Anglican Church, 2161 Winnipeg Street, Regina with Rev. Blair Dixon officiating.
