Obituary of Irene Alice Mildred Cocks

COCKS, IRENE A.M. December 29, 1918 - March 7, 2006 Irene Cocks, late of Regina, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Catherine Morphy; her husband, Bob; sisters, Violet, Hazel and Dorothy; and brothers, Norman and Lyle. She will be missed and remembered by her daughter, Janet (Bud) Reinson of Buena Vista, SK; son, John of Ottawa, ON; three grandchildren, Scott (Ann Marie) Reinson, Susan Reinson and Aaron Cocks; three great-grandchildren, Blake, Connor and Sydney Reison; and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was born in Saltcoats, SK and received her schooling there. After living in Carnduff, Melville and Davidson, she and Bob moved to Regina in 1965. Irene was employed at Sears Catalogue Call Centre for 30+ years, loving every minute of it. During that time she acquired some life-long friends. She was an avid gardener and extremely proud of her 8 foot high sweetpeas and huge zucchinis! Other favourite pastimes included driving her sporty car, shopping, and cooking special Sunday dinners for family. Our sincere appreciation and thanks go to the caring and compassionate staff at Extendicare Parkside where Mom lived for the past five months. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, MARCH 18, 2006 (note date) at 2:00 p.m. with Darrell Reine officiating.
