Obituary of Arnold Walter Anderson

ANDERSON - On Sunday, March 26, 2006 Arnold Walter (Andy) Anderson passed away at the Pasqua Hospital after a lengthy illness at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by his mother Laura Anderson (nee May); father Walter Anderson; aunts; uncles; and dear cousin Wylie Jenkinson. Andy is survived by his wife, Phyllis (nee Keller); daughter, Karen Fraser of Bangkok, Thailand; grandchildren, Paul Fraser of Calgary, Rayna Crossan of Calgary, Lisa Fraser of New Westminster; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sister, Beverly (Rev. L. S. Eakin) Joy of Alabama; niece, Shelley (Tom) Nixon of Florida; nephews, Glenn (Deborah) Eakin of Alabama, Grant Eakin (Dorothy) of California; two grandnieces; five grandnephews; as well as numerous cousins; and Katy, his four-legged friend. He attended elementary and high school in Toronto. He served in the radar division, Royal Canadian Air Force, then attended Ryerson College in Toronto. Andy enjoyed a career in sales. He was a member of the Associated Canadian Travellers for 46 years, was past-president of the Travellers Day Parade, a life member of the Saskatchewan Veterans Inc. and a long time member of the Royal Regina Golf Club. He enjoyed curling and was a supporter of the Saskatchewan Roughriders for thirty years. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Ronald H. Sutton officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park, veterans section. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina S4T 1A5, Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 or a charity of your choice.
