Obituary of Joan Sharleen Richardson

RICHARDSON, Joan Sharleen (nee Innes) - On Sunday, March 26, at age 63, with much grace and great courage, after an active and wonderful life full of loving family and dear friends. Beloved wife and soul mate of Ivor for 38 happy and eventful years, mother (and mother-in-law) to Jacquie (Nils) Corneman, Gary (Sharon) Richardson, Sandra Richardson, Sherry Richardson (Neil Roach), Lisa Richardson (Rick Ledingham), and Mike Richardson. Cherished Nanny to twelve grandchildren. Loved and missed by her brother, Gary (Pat) Innes and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, Jean Innes (Ferguson), and father, Kenneth Innes. Joni lived life to the fullest; she had a special joy for life itself, a sincere delight in her friends and a deep appreciation for her surroundings. Her real estate career, which spanned 22 years, provided her with great fulfillment. Throughout their time together, Joni and Ivor traveled extensively and enjoyed winters at their home in Palm Desert, California. Many fine medical professionals gave the utmost care and attention to Joni at the end. The family cannot convey sufficient thanks to Dr. Chalchal, Dr. MacLeod, Dr. Pacella, Dr. Kumar, Louise Cadrin, Lorraine Johnston, Reverend Dan Cooper and the Oncology Unit of Regina Pasqua Hospital. We also thank the outpouring of kindness, prayers and wishes from friends too numerous to mention. In keeping with Jonis wishes, a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Reverend Dan Cooper officiating. A private interment was held in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Joni requested that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, S4P 2R3.
