Obituary of Margaret McAulay
McAULAY, Margaret of Cupar, SK, passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital on March 31, 2006 at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Susan Tait; first husband, Bob Myers; her brothers Andrew and George; sister Helen. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ken; her children, Roberta (Woodie) Beug of Calgary, Alberta; Jack (Karen) Myers of Delta, BC; her grandchildren, Paula, Pamela Susan and Jennifer; her great-grandchildren Blake, Mackenzie, James and Josh; her brother, Calvin (Doris) Tait of Thunder Bay, Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was born May 4, 1917 in Regina, raised in Fort QuAppelle and came to Cupar in 1936 to work for Alice and Frank Turner. In 1938 she married Bob Myers, they lived in Cupar and had two children. She started working at the Cupar Hospital in 1954 and stayed there for 13 years. During that time she was a nurses aide but also the x-ray and lab technician. In 1962 she married Ken McAulay and in 1969 they moved to the farm at Markinch. In 1987 they moved back to Cupar where they lived until they moved in 2003 to a Care Home in Regina. In June 2005 they moved to the Shalom Nursing Home in Cupar. A special thanks to her nephew Ken Peters who was there to look after her until she passed away. All who knew her will sadly miss Margaret. "A little lady that everyone liked. No service will be held at Margarets request. Cremation. Interment will be at a later date in Markinch Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
