Obituary of Madeleine Marguerite Coupal

COUPAL, Madeleine - On Tuesday, April 11th, 2006 our beloved sister and aunt died peacefully at the age of 94 years. Madeleine is survived by her sister Marguerite Klein; brother Gerry of Nova Scotia; sister-in-law Mary Dumelie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis; brothers George and Gilbert; brother-in-law William Klein and three brothers in infancy. Born to Honore and Pauline Dumelie in Deloraine, Manitoba, Madeleine homesteaded with her parents in the Fir Mountain district. After receiving her early education in Lafleche, she graduated as a nurse at Regina Grey Nuns Hospital in 1936. She nursed in Regina for many years and since the early thirties has continued to be a resident, except for the war years. Madeleines life was filled with the joy of having a host of good friends. An avid traveler, bridge player and reader, she rejoiced in the company of her friends and family. Whenever possible, she provided continuing support to members of her family. A Funeral Service will be held, Thursday, April 13th, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, with Deacon Joe Lang presiding. Interment to follow in the Regina Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Wascana Heights Care Home, Marion Chateau, Ward 3E General Hospital and 4D Pasqua Hospital for the excellent care that Madeleine received.
