Obituary of Joshua Melville Colhoun

COLHOUN - On Monday, April 17, 2006 Joshua Melville Colhoun passed away at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by six brothers; three sisters; and grandson, Patrick Norman Bailey. Mel is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelynn; two sons, Norman (Laurie) and their children David and Kaitlin; Keith (Tammy) and their children Liam and Kayleigh; three daughters, Byrdene (Bruce Bailey) and their children, Phelan (Theresa), Parry (Rhonda); Mavis/Bonnie (Mervin Bratkoski) and their children, Marc (Lisa), Melanie (Davy); Audrey (Randy Ball); three great-grandsons; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born August 3, 1921 at Kisby, SK., Mel was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a pioneer member of the Saskatchewan Trucking Association as well as a recipient of the Trailmobile Service Award in 1979. He farmed in the Lumsden area for over 35 years. He was a Charter Member of the Imperial (now the Highland) Curling Club and Life Member of the Optimist Club of Regina. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Darcy Nafe officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
