WICKENHEISER, Englebert (Bert) - On April 18th, 2006, Bert closed his eyes for the last time on this earthly life. Bert was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Stephanie, two brothers in infancy, sisters, Katie, Helen and Tillie and one brother, (Joseph). He is survived by his brothers: Edmond, Charlie, Regina, Adam (Angeline), Fort QuAppelle and Waldy (Daisey), Saskatoon; sisters, Betty Mastel, Ursula (Ben) Reiss, Edith (Gordon) West, Regina , Pauline (Bernie) Reilander, Saskatoon, Louise Bobbitt, Toronto. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Bert was born in the farm house in Vibank on July 28, 1916. He lived most of his life on the farm, and eventually took over the family farm. Here he lived, an unmarried man for a number of years. After moving into Regina, Bert worked as a greens keeper at the Regina Golf Course and became involved in the real estate business with his brother Charlie until his retirement. Bert had a real passion for sports: football, baseball, hockey and often could be found attending his nieces and nephews games. He was a Saskatchewan Roughrider and Regina Pat season ticket holder for years. Bert was a very kind, gentle and unassuming man, who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Unit 4A at the Pasqua Hospital for their compassionate care during Berts last days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Regina Palliative Care Inc., 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Sask. S4T 1A5. Viewing for family members will take place on Thursday, April 27th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28 at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 3125-13th Avenue, Regina with Rev. Louis Kubash presiding. Dear brother and uncle, may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. We bury you today with mixed emotions: Sad, because your friendship will no longer be ours to enjoy Happy because at last you are with your Lord, Him who you longed for ninety long years. We leave you with one last prayer: May Christs redemptive glory be yours forever to enjoy And if you had one prayer for us it would be, "Dear God, grant that I grow beautiful in the inner man. That whatever I possess without May grow in harmony with the inner life. May I deem the wise alone rich, and may my store of Gold be such as only the "good will bear. "
