Obituary of Dianita Jerome

JEROME - Dianita. It is with overwhelming sadness that we communicate the passing of our beloved daughter, wife, cousin and friend Diana Jerome (Aviles-Contreras) on Saturday, April 22, 2006. A true angel of life, Diana confronted life with happiness and optimism - always laughing and organizing gatherings where her "Clan" (cousins and friends) would get together to enjoy endless hours of chat, playing games and movie watching. Dianita had three soulmates: her mother Gisela, who was also her best friend; sister Andrea, who was also Diana's confidant. And then came Jody, her husband, love of her life and comrade through two wonderful years of blissful marriage. Dianita was 25 years old at the time of her passing. During her short life she exemplified all that is good in humanity, caring, giving, non-judgmental and always responsible. Diana and Jody participated fully in community activities, sponsoring families for Christmas hampers, donating time and resources to Cancer research and more. Diana is survived by her husband Jody, her mother and father, Gisela and Hector; sister Andrea (husband William), Grandmother Carmen, Grandfather Juan, her mother and father in-law Sherry and Andy, uncles Leo (Milly), Guido (Margeret), Juan (Marla) and a large number of cousins and friends. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue on Thursday, April 27, 2006 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 28, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Ave E, Pastor Rick Parkyn presiding. Interment will follow at the Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue E. Reception to follow at the Regina Apostolic Church.
