Obituary of Gerald Bryan Hupp

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gerry Hupp in the late evening of May 3, 2006. Gerry fought a long and courageous battle with cancer since his diagnosis of lymphoma in the summer of 2005. Gerry is survived by his loving and caring wife Dianne; his two daughters Sheri (Geoff) and Tracy; his parents Gerald A. and Vera Hupp; and his younger brother Murray (Gail). In addition, numerous extended family and friends will miss him. Gerry was born on January 19, 1946 and grew up in Regina, SK. There he met his beautiful wife Dianne Rieger whom he married on April 3, 1971. Gerry and Dianne had two loving and beautiful daughters Sheri and Tracy. Gerry graduated from STI (Moose Jaw) as an engineering technician. He worked at the City of Regina, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and finally Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency. He was also employed as a consultant for the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games. He has been associated with the Appraisal Institute of Canada for over 25 years. He has sat as the Director representing the Province of Saskatchewan of the Appraisal Institute of Canada for a number of years until his battle with cancer forced his resignation. Those who knew Gerry would tell you of his love of fine wines, good food, classic cars, smooth jazz and good company. He had fond memories of his travels within and outside of Canada. He also loved his two constant feline companions, Rusty and Chica. The Funeral Service for Gerry will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross R. C. Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina followed by a gathering for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 in Gerrys memory.
