Obituary of Reece Llewelyn Twist

TWIST - It is with deep shock and sorrow we announce the passing of Reece Llewelyn Twist on Friday, May 5, 2006. Reece is survived by his loving wife Sharon; sons, Glen (Karen) and Vern (ex-wife Tammy Boehmer); daughters, Bev (Jim) McIntosh and Karen Twist; grandchildren, Corinne (Dean Dovell), Shannon (Craig Lawson), J.P., Shawn McIntosh, Crystal, Cindy, Stevie, Dakota, Brett, Ashley and Amy Twist; great-granddaughter Hailey McIntosh Lawson; brothers, Jack (Muriel) and Bill (Anne) Twist; brother-in-law Dennis Third; numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reece was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan on January 25, 1933. He was raised in Frobisher, Saskatchewan. In 1954 he became a Psychiatric Nurse, after his training at Saskatchewan Hospital in Weyburn, Sask. Reece started his family and continued to work at Saskatchewan Hospital until 1964 when he moved his family to their present home in Regina, to work at the Regina General Hospital, Munroe Wing as a, the first, Community Health Care Nurse. Reece worked in a supervisory capacity in this field until his retirement. After retiring Reece pursed his love of flying by acquiring his pilots license. He, over the years, started three separate businesses (Autobody Shop, Comsport Aviation Ltd. And Avouch Bobcat Services). He was a Sergeant with the South Saskatchewan Regiment, he trained army cadets with the militia, he was a Legion member, a member and the treasurer with the Antique Auto Association. Special thanks for the kindness and care received by Reece and ourselves from the staff in Intensive Care and Unit 5A at the Regina General Hospital, and for the kindness from friends and family at this time. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Regina Branch, 1545 C McAra Street, Regina S4R 8G9.
