Obituary of David Donald Warren

WARREN, DAVID DONALD_June 20, 1946-May 6, 2006.Born and raised in Moose Jaw, Sask, Dave attended the University of Saskatchewan and Carleton University. A career civil servant, he worked in several departments in the Federal Government in Ottawa and in the Saskatchewan Provincial Government. Dave's life was centered around his family. He supported his children in all their athletic endeavors. He was proud of them and loved them all very much. Dave always coached responsibility and participation to his Little League teams. Dave was an accomplished artist and photographer and loved to ramble through the Qu'Appelle valley with his canine companions. Diagnosed with a particularly virulent form of CLL in 1998, he fought a tenacious war with Leukemia. He fought quietly and courageously, winning several battles with death, his great sense of humour wavering only at the end. Dave leaves to mourn him, his loving wife of 38 years, Wendy, sons Christopher(Martine Rochefort) Ottawa, Allen, Regina, daughter Robin(Ryan Bayne) and unborn baby Bayne, parents Donald and Elizabeth Warren, brother Ron(Judy)Warren and daughters, and cousins in Ontario and England. Also mourning his passing are his canine friends Louie, Lizzy and granddog Zoe. We would like to thank the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, The Saskatoon Cancer Centre, Ward 3B, Pasqua Hospital and especially the wonderful nursing staff of 6100 RUH who do their job so professionally in a very difficult environment. Our profound thanks to the Tokaryk family in Saskatoon for their support over the past three years. Dr. Voralia and all the members of the hematological stem cell transplant team have prolonged or saved the lives of hundreds of people over the past few years and we are so very grateful to them for their work. At Dave's request there will be no funeral. Flowers are gratefully declined. In his memory we ask that anyone wishing would make a blood donation to the Canadian Blood Services. Monetary donations may be made to the! Hematological Stem Cell Transplant Research Program, Saskatoon Cancer Centre.
