Obituary of Geraldine Marie Becker

BECKER - Geraldine Marie (nee Kuechle), formerly of Kamsack, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2006 in Regina with her loving family at her side. Born on October 20, 1912, at Carmel, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by parents John and Caroline Kuechle, husband Arnold Becker, grandson David Becker, brother Henry Kuechle, sister Agnes Wolfe, daughter-in-law Diane Becker; Geraldine is survived by her sons Howard (Terry) Becker, Wayne (Pauline) Becker, Gerald Becker, and daughters Joyce (John) Reid and Annette Girling; grandchildren Travis Paul, Annette (Mark) Aldorfor, Cindy (Kevin) Mandziuk, John (Michelle) Becker, Wayne Jr Paul, Jody (Doug) Sabine, Kim (Mike) Hudye, Jason (Jennifer) Becker, Dale Becker, Ian Reid, Heather Reid; great-grandchildren Taylor and Teddy Hudye, Melissa Mandziuk, Michael and Crystal Becker, Madelyn and Cathrine Becker, Cole and Sam Sabine. Geraldine is also survived by her brothers and sisters - Fred (Bea) Kuechle, Dorothy Becker, Bernice Wilson, Victor Kuechle, Dolores (Carl) Kiefer, Inez (Lambert) Muellner, Alvin (Lou) Kuechle, Ronald (Dolores) Kuechle, brother-in-law Peter Wolfe, sister-in-law Margaret Becker; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Geraldine attended school in Carmel and Humboldt followed by Normal School in Saskatoon in 1929. A teacher by profession, Geraldine taught in numerous one-room schools throughout rural Saskatchewan. Geraldine also worked on the family farm and was active in community affairs such as the hospital and seniors centre in Kamsack. She resided at the Queen Victoria Estates in Regina for the past six years where she established many friendships. Memorial Mass will held Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross R. C. Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East, Regina with Rev. Norman Marcotte presiding. Interment in Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Flowers most gratefully declined.
