Obituary of Myrtle Sally Ann Kincaid

KINCAID - Myrtle Sally Ann. After a yearlong struggle with cancer, Sally passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ken of Avonlea, children Janelle (Damon) Grant of Weyburn, Carrie (Kevin) Rossler of Regina, Robert (Chassity) of Regina, and Troy of Weyburn, and her cherished grandchildren Dylan and Megan Grant of Weyburn. Sally was born and raised in Avonlea, and worked at various businesses including J&W Meats, Food Town, Long Creek Golf and Country Club, and Notre Dame College. She was also a valued member of the community, having taught Sunday School and Explorer Girls, and volunteering her time for many various activities and events. Diagnosed with cancer in 2005, Sally was a determined fighter, who never complained and never lost her positive attitude. She continued to light up the room wherever she went with her beautiful smile or infectious laughter. Even when she went for her treatments, she always believed it was better to walk into chemo or radiation with a positive attitude, and maybe that would help someone else have a better day. Sincere appreciation is extended to the homecare nurses in Avonlea, the doctors, staff and nurses of the Regina Pasqua Hospital, and all those who came to visit Sally during the last days of her life. Your kindnesses will not be forgotten. A celebration of life will take place on Monday, June 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Avonlea United Church. Private interment to take place at Hillcrest Cemetery following the service. Those wishing to do so may make donations to the Regina Palliative Care Inc., or to the Saskatchewan Cancer Society, Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina Sk, S4T 1A5.
