Obituary of Theodore George Miller

MILLER, Theodore (Ted), born at Rouleau on March 2nd, 1919 and passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006. He grew up on the family farm north of Rouleau and attended Gosmil School and later Luther College. He served in the Navy and was discharged in 1946 at Fort San where he was treated for tuberculosis. He started his apprenticeship in the Saskatchewan Embalming Association in 1947 and received his license in 1949 and took further training in Chicago, Ill. In 1950 he married Jeanette Gamble of Moose Jaw. Ted was predeceased by his parents Horace and Bertha and his wife and partner, Jeanette in May of 2000. They are survived by three sons, Dan (Georgina) of Winnipeg, Daryl (Carol) of Lanark, ON, Doug of Regina; and one daughter Kate, also of Regina; his sister Elaine Parr of Yorkton; also four grandchildren, Barbara Miller (Phil Lemky), and Chris Miller of Winnipeg and Meghan and Annie Miller of Lanark, ON; several cousins in Canada and U.S.; and numerous nieces and nephews. His working years were spent between Moose Jaw and Regina until he retired in 1983. Ted and Jeanette travelled to many countries after they retired. His main hobbies were gardening and the yearly fall goose hunt at his cousins in the Tyvan area. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 - 23rd Avenue, Regina. Donations, if desired, can be made to Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Veterans Ward, 2180 - 23rd Avenue, Regina S4S 0A5. Thanks to all the caring staff on the Veterans Ward at the Wascana Hospital where Ted spent the last two years. He made many good friends and shared many a good laugh and a good story.
