Obituary of Elsie Mary Munro

MUNRO, Elsie Mary (Kaiser) (formerly of Strasbourg), passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years with her family by her side on June 25, 2006 at William Booth Wascana Grace Hospice. Predeceased by her parents Anthony (Tony) Kaiser and Mary Langen (Kaiser); step-dad Joe Langen; husband William (Bill); sisters, Laura Miller and Ruth Hey; son-in-law, Garry Bodnar; brother-in-law Arnold Miller. Elsie is survived by her children, Mary (Don) Simpson of Regina, Jim (Jay) Munro of Regina, and Donna Bodnar (Carl Rothe) of Odessa; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Darren Simpson (Shannon) and Ryan; Mark Simpson (Nadine), Kyle and Hayle; Sherri Bereti (Dan) and Austin; Curtis (Lee) and Marshall; Shane Bodnar (Katrina) and children Jesse, Joe-Lee, Rebecca; Corey Bodnar (Leanne) and Zachary; Jody Miller (Scott) and Joseph; brother-in-law Hilbert Hey of Bulyea; many nieces and nephews. Mom lived in Strasbourg until 1963 when they moved to Regina. She worked at the Singer Sewing Machine Company and then at the Royal Canadian Legion #1 until she retired in 1989. She was a 20 year Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion #1 Branch. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. McMillan, Dr. Clein, the nursing staff at Palliative Care Pasqua Hospital, and a special thank-you to the nursing staff at Wascana Grace Hospice. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in Rosemont United Church, 5000 - 8th Avenue with Rev. Marjorie Kent officiating. Interment in Strasbourg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsies memory, to the William Booth Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 9P6.
