ALLAN, F. Eileen It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Allan (nee Welsh) announces her passing on July 8, 2006 at age 94. Eileen will be remembered for her dedication to the field of nursing, her great sense of humour and love of her family. Eileen was born on May 3, 1912 in Lauder, MB. She grew up in Moose Jaw and the family eventually moved to Regina. Upon graduating from the Regina General Hospital as a nurse Eileen went on to serve overseas during World War II with the #8 General Hospital Unit as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister. She spent most of her post-war nursing career as a Public Health Nurse serving the region south of Regina until her retirement. Eileen was predeceased by her parents; brother Harold; and sister-in-law Kay and husband James (Red) Allan. Eileen leaves her memory with nephews Bill (Georgina) Welsh, Saskatoon, Bruce (Charlene) Welsh, Regina; great-nieces Heather (Trevor) Ahrens of Kindersley, Michelle Welsh of Calgary, Marina and Lindsey Welsh of Regina; nieces Joanne Gordon and Janice Strathearn of Edmonton; great-nephew Dylan Ahrens; close friend Sandra Ewart; as well as her friends and former colleagues. A visitation for family and friends will be held TONIGHT (Tuesday) from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. The service to celebrate Eileens life is Wednesday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. in Knox-Metropolitan United Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia and Alzheimer Foundation, #301 - 2550 - 12th Avenue, Regina S4P 3X1 or Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, 4215 Regina Avenue, Regina S4S 0J5.
