Obituary of Loretta Mary Duran

DURAN - Loretta Duran (Fahlman) of Katepwa Lake, beloved wife of Gordon, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2006 at the Pasqua Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 77. Predeceased by her parents Larry and Mary Fahlman; and sister Delphine; Loretta is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gordon; children, Michael (Betty), Susan (Fred), David, Christopher (Shelly); grandchildren, Keith (Kim), Derek (Randeen), Scott (Ashley and son Donavin), Curtis, Kelly (Dean), Jeremy (Amber and son Ty), Ashlee, Haylee and Nikolaus; great-grandchildren, Kayle, Kyle, Logan, Travis; her brother, Joseph (Peggy) Fahlman; sister Phyllis (Bill) Rieger; brother-in-law Bernie Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Loretta was raised and educated in Regina. At the age of 14 she met a young man, Gordon, who she was to spend the rest of her life with. She was a homemaker, baker, cook and seamstress, knitter, and quilter. Loretta was especially proud of her numerous quilts and slippers that she made for many relatives. Loretta enjoyed going to Fort QuAppelle and visiting with her coffee friends. She was a member of Little Flower CWL for 48 years. A special thank you to Susan for all her care during the past few weeks. A Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower R.C. Church, 420 College Avenue on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Bill Mahoney presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorettas memory, to Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina SK, S4R 2P6. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
