Obituary of Walter Matlock

MATLOCK - Walter passed away peacefully on Friday July 28, 2006. Walter was born in Lumsden, SK on March 24, 1919. Walter is survived by his son Gary (Starla) and grandchildren Brad and Mark; brothers, Mike Matlock (Anne) of Regina, Bill Matlock (Regina) of Lumsden, John Matlock (Edie) of Regina; sisters, Mary Eberts of Regina and Anne Petryna (John) of Regina. Walter was predeceased by his wife Mary, brother Harry and sister-in-law Joan Freestone. Walter was a WWII veteran who enjoyed playing ball and was well known for his pitching ability. Walter spent most of his life farming in the Lumsden area and was a kind, caring neighbour to all he knew. Walter always enjoyed good times with friends and family until his last days with us. Special thanks to Dr. Newton and the staff of unit 3-5 Veterans Unit at the Wascana Rehab Centre. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, 1820 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK S4P 2K2.
