Obituary of Edgar Brooks Fieldgate

Surrounded by his family, Edgar passed away peacefully on July 20, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents Archie and Jessie Fieldgate, and brother Hugh Fieldgate (Doreen). Edgar leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley Fieldgate, daughter Cathy Fieldgate (Barry Rogers), son Brian Fieldgate (Nancy), daughter Allison Fieldgate, brother Archie Fieldgate (Gloria), granddaughter Nova Alberts (Tim), grandsons Ryan Herman (Amber) and Joseph Fieldgate, great-grandchildren Emery Alberts, Joel Alberts, Xander Herman and Calista Herman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Edgar grew up on a farm outside Regina. He was a milkman for many years, where his customers loved him, and he retired from the Dairy Producers Co-op after 27 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, family get-togethers, cooking and had a wonderful sense of humour. He had a great love of music, played many instruments and loved to sing and dance. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Parkview Lodge, QuAppelle House, Regina Pioneer Village, and the Pasqua and General Hospitals for their care and compassion over the years that made Ed so comfortable during his illness. Particular thanks goes out to those on Unit 6A at the General Hospital who made sure Ed had such tender care during his final days. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Zion United Church, 120 Broad Street North, Regina, SK S4R 1W9 with Minister Ken Robinson officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations can be made in Memory of Edgar Fieldgate to Zion United Church. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
