Obituary of Kathleen Lambrecht

KATHLEEN “KAY” LAMBRECHT December 13, 1917 - March 24, 2013 Kathleen “Kay” Lambrecht, age 95 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Born and raised in Regina to immigrants, Kay learned the value of hard work and family at a very early age. Upon graduation from Balfour High School she enrolled in continuing education to pursue a career in administration assistance. After graduation she became employed at The Saskatchewan Legislature. Upon retirement Kay threw herself into her two other passions, family and needlepoint. She could always be seen until the wee hours of the night working on another of her needlepoint creations. Completing hundreds in her lifetime, they now hang in many friends and families homes throughout Canada and the USA. Kay loved to stay in touch with all family and friends throughout her life. No matter the occasion, Christmas, Easter, birthdays and anniversaries you could always count on a card and a short note to arrive from Kay. Kay was predeceased by her parents John and Theresa of Regina, SK; brothers Tony (Mim) of Montreal, QC, Scotty of Denver, CO, Jack (Mickey) of Calistoga, CA, and Andy of Calistoga, CA and her sister Edith (Bill) of Regina, SK. She is survived by her sister-in-law Florence of Denver, CO as well as dozens of nieces and nephews throughout Regina, Eastern Canada and the United States. Special thanks go her nephew Tim Giokas and his wife Tammy of Moose Jaw, SK; friends Dickey Osiowy and Joanna of Regina, SK and Silva Care Homes for such special care and patience in Kay’s later years. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gary Lindenbach presiding.
