Obituary of Edna Lucy Steel

STEEL -Edna Lucy Steel, late of Sunset Extendicare, born in Winnipeg in 1913, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her son Major James Edward Roe Steel in 1975; husband James Roe Steel in 1981, Edna is survived by her daughter Pat Steel Moyer and husband R. L. (Bob) Moyer; sister Geraldine Kjartanson; grandchildren: Gregory Krause, Andree Steel (Don Adams), James Steel (Tracy), Carle Steel (Richard Spafford); step-grandchildren, Dr. William Moyer (Susan Bamford), Doug Moyer (Sherri Wright), Karen Bash; as well as numerous precious nieces and nephews. Edna was a shrewd businesswoman with an entrepreneurial spirit. She was a vivacious and classy lady who was fun to be around. Edna was a people person, loyal friend, a peacemaker and an encourager. She was a "friend of the friendless, trustworthy, non-judgmental and a woman of integrity. Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 21, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with pastor and friend Orville Kaminski presiding.
