Obituary of Clifford Gordon Anderson

ANDERSON, CLIFFORD GORDON - passed away unexpectedly February 26, 2005 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mabel Anderson; sister Lorraine McPherson; and brother-in-law Don McPherson. Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Edith; children, Larry (Rose Marie), Lee (Carol), Linda (Terry) and Lance; grandchildren, Tracey (Mike), Sheri (Grant), Stephen (Jenn), Erin, Shawn and Devon; great-grandchild, Hayley. Gordon was born in Moose Jaw on May 14, 1923. Gordon's career began with SaskTel in June of 1941, only to be interrupted by his service in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1942 serving on destroyers and corvettes in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. After WWII he returned to Moose Jaw and continued with SaskTel. Gordon then met Edith and they began their marriage of 58 years. Gordon's career with SaskTel spanned 36 years, ending in 1977 as Construction Supervisor. He then began a retirement filled with the joys of family, camping, boating and fishing in Waskesiu, golfing, farming with his son and the arrival of his precious grandchildren. He will always be remembered for giving his assistance to his family without question and never failing to tell them how proud he was of each of them. His friends will remember his sense of humor, love of laughter and the sharing of many good times. At the age of 81, Gordon was still working the combine at harvest, running errands and helping whenever needed. Edith and Gordon enjoyed traveling, dining out and especially their family. Gordon recently said: "I've had a good life" and has left a legacy of love and caring for his wife, children and grandchildren that will never be forgotten. FUNERAL SERVICES FOR GORDON WILL BE HELD AT SPEERS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2136 COLLEGE AVENUE, REGINA ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2, 2005 AT 1:30 p.m. Flowers are graciously declined, however donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in the memory of Gordon. Condolences to the family may be emailed to reception@speersfuneralchapel.com LOGO
